Privacy policy

GitBored is a website-first private Git host at gitbored.io. Gitea runs the engine behind a branded UI. This page is the whole story of what we keep and why. Last updated September 2, 2026.

Who we are

GitBored is operated by PepLabs. The product is the Git host itself — sign up, private repos, account and security email. There are no ads.

What we store

That is the list. We collect it when you sign up (username, email, password), when you use the site (session cookies), when you push Git data, and when you ask for a password reset.

Why we store it

To run the Git host and to send account and security email. Forgot-password mail goes out from noreply@gitbored.io through Resend. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who can see your repos

Repos are private by default. Only the account owner controls that account and those repos. Other GitBored users do not get your files because they signed up too.

Who we share with

We do not sell personal data. The host runs on Railway. Email is sent by Resend. Those vendors see what they need to run the service — hosting the site and sending mail — and nothing else we add on top.

Cookies

We use session cookies so the site knows you are signed in. They are for the GitBored account, not for ads or tracking pixels.

You can leave

You can delete your own repos. You can delete your own account. When the account is gone, the account record and the repos that belonged to it go with it, along with the session. Short-lived reset tokens expire on their own.
